Planning Law and Consent
Consulting PBA early can help to ensure that statutory consents are obtained in good time; potentially avoiding costly time delays on projects.
PBA’s development team brings to bear a wealth of experience of delivering works in support of development consents, and also in making development applications. From simple ecological assessments accompanying small-scale projects, through to projects requiring multiple development consents from different statutory bodies, our structured team of professionals tailor our services to suit.
The water environment presents perhaps the most complex demands in terms of statutory consents. Key to the timely and cost effective project delivery is a thorough understanding of the tiers and sequencing of these consents, and the expectations of consenting bodies. PBA has considerable experience in applying for development consents; ranging from planning applications to mitigation licenses; taking projects from initial concept through (when necessary) to provision of Expert Witness at Inquiry.
The legislative and policy framework are constantly evolving, and it is important to remain up to date. Through membership of the UK Environmental Law Association, (UKELA), and CIEEM training, we strive to provide the most effective support to our clients.
As professional ecologists, PBA is licensed to survey a range of protected species, and has considerable experience in carrying out such surveys. We deal with both UK and European Protected Species (EPS), and a large portfolio of projects where these have been successfully accommodated in development.
