Water quality is the primary driver of aquatic ecosystems, and the achievement and maintenance of good water quality is vital to a wide range of projects
Water quality monitoring
PBA deploys a knowledge-based approach to a range of water quality monitoring tasks. From the design of monitoring protocols, through to data collection, data analyses and reporting, PBA provides a one-stop solution to water quality monitoring requirements. We hold and maintain a wide range of both manual and automated field water quality monitoring equipment. PBA’s in-house freshwater ecology laboratory also undertakes a range of routine measurements, and we have well-established links with industry-leading laboratories – for definitive chemical analyses.
A range of biological monitoring services are available from PBA. These offer a second tier of water quality monitoring, which can greatly assist in achieving definitive interpretation. PBA’s biological monitoring services range from in-house capabilities in macro-invertebrates, to industry-leading capabilities in diatom sampling, identification and analyses. Water samples are often taken alongside biological samples to provide definitive analysis and interpretation. Water quality sampling suites can be tailored to the client’s requirements, and to individual sites and projects.
Have you considered baseline biological sampling at the start of your civil engineering project? This can prove extremely useful in building confidence with environmental regulators, and can also be extremely useful in controlling the risk of enforcement action.
