Community Engagement
Here at PBA Applied Ecology we believe that ecological consultancies have a responsibility to promote awareness and understanding of ecology and the challenges British wildlife is facing. As well as organising and running CIEEM’s National Crayfish Course and assisting in the organising of the National Crayfish Conference we also work with local schools, and community groups. PBA are proud sponsors of a number of local sporting initiatives.
Many of our staff are STEM Ambassadors and work with local schools to plan and deliver outreach events and training days. We have also helped supervise sixth form research projects looking at a wide range of ecological and environmental themes. Each year we host a number of work experience placements and have a specially designed Careers Pathway to help people get started in a career in this challenging sector.
Our staff are also active members of national and local conservation groups and charities, designing and running group outings and field trips. We take part in national surveys and report sightings to biodiversity recorders.
If you would like to learn more about any of our community initiatives and find out how you can get involved please give us a call.
